We are pleased to be able to offer you a reliable, CE marked Covid 19 IgG antibody blood test.

This is a test for past exposure to the covid 19 virus or immunity from vaccination.

The Test

The blood test enables the determination of both the presence and level of antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. which is the target of many COVID-19 vaccines. It can signal whether a person has already been infected and has potentially developed immunity to the virus, and plays an important part in characterising a vaccine-induced immune response.

The sample should be taken at least 14 days after symptoms first developed or 14 days after vaccination.

The Package

Step 1 : Telephone consultation with one of our GPs (doctors) who will talk you through the test and ask you about any symptoms you have experienced. The doctor will advise you of the best timing of the test.

Step 2 : After the telephone consultation a booking is made to come in and have the blood test taken.

Step 3 : 24-48 hours later the test result will be emailed to you and a paper copy posted.

Interpreting results

If you have tested positive it is not known whether this gives you any long term immunity from the virus. 

It is therefore important that you continue to follow government advice on social distancing, whatever your test result.

Not everyone will develop an antibody response to COVID infection or vaccine.
